Traveler's Checklist
Here's a list for you to print and use that we've found helpful over the years. Everything is not absolutely necessary; use your own judgement (most people, including your hosts, take too much).
- Electric adapter plug kit (you can get one at Target with several adapters that will make it work in just about any country - bring the whole kit, not just what it says for a specific country - we've gotten surprises)
- Address book with phone numbers
- Aspirin, motion sickness medicine
- Camera, case, batteries, film (you won't believe the price of film at tourist shops)
- Travel alarm clock
- Detergent in a small bag or container (for use at night in the hotel room)
- Ear plugs
- Flashlight
- Neck pillow for travel (these are great - again you can get one in the travel section at Target)
- Pouch for passport, credit cards, traveler's checks (Target has money belt types or the kind that hang around your neck)
- Plastic Bags (large for laundry, small for leaky bottles)
- Prescriptions & medications (preferably in original containers)
- Raincoat (with liner?), umbrella
- Soap (small bar in a plastic bag)
- Sunscreen or sunblock
- Tissues (travel pack)
- Towelettes (alcohol wipes)
- Wash cloth - most foreign countries never heard of one. Some people take several old ones they can throw away rather than pack a wet one - other people carry one in a plastic bag)
