Rome is, of course, the center of our Catholic Faith. The “Eternal City” was perhaps the single most important place in determining the future of Christianity. It was from here that the influence of Peter and Paul spread to all the world. And Italy offers an opportunity to visit the land of many of our most influential saints.
Some of our pilgrimages begin with a tour of northern Italy. First we will visit the Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua. In Venice we will celebrate Mass at St Mark’s Cathedral followed by a guided tour of the city. Then it’s off to Florence, the religious art capital of the world. Next we’ll visit Siena and the reliquary of St. Catherine, the great Doctor of the Church.
Other pilgrimages begin with a visit southern Italy. We’ll stop in Lanciano, San Giovanni Rotundo and the friary of Saint padre Pio, and perhaps Pompeii, Monti Casino or even Capri.
Then on the way to Rome we’ll stop in Assisi and visit the numerous holy places of St. Francis and St. Clare. All of this builds to the excitement of our arrival in Rome. What can compare to Rome, the Eternal City. The awesome proportions of St. Peters, the fabulous history of Christianity, the remains of the great Roman Empire and, of course, the Papal audience are but a few of the experiences that will remain with you forever. As the saying goes “Rome is simply Rome”.
Whether you’re an experienced pilgrim or this is your first such venture, we know that you will be moved and that your faith will come alive again and again throughout the journey. We invite you to join us for this wonderful experience.
